Machisma: Macho Women
Machisma was a word that never quite made it. It dates from the era of the Womens Liberation movement, as do the photographs of (sort of) female strength.

I don’t think that the 1970s photo of the female bodybuilder was exploitive, not compared to what bodybuilders of either sex wear today. But I find strong females, physically and otherwise, delightful.
