Mistress Jen, fresh from some not exactly perfect dates with men wanting to meet a dominant woman offers some advice. Here’s part of her list:
- 1. Ask her to dinner. Not coffee, not breakfast, not lunch. Dinner.
- 2. Ask her what food she likes best and what side of town she lives on.
- 2a. If you have budget issues BE UP FRONT because you have to pay.
- 3. If you know the restaurants that fit her parameters then suggest one that is quiet and condusive to actually talking.
- 4. Ask her what personal information she would like to have about you to make her feel comfortable about her safety. License plate number? Phone number? Assure her that you want her to feel safe and that whatever she needs for that is completely

Of course I have not been “on the market” for a few years now but I do have some considerations.
Firstly I do not get asked out, I asks out. I have always been the initiative taker and have made clear what I want. That is a personal thing.
As for 2a and payment. That has always depended on who and what. In 90% of dates I have gone 50/50 so there would be no strings, ideas, if, buts and maybes involved.
So the long and short of the story. Everybody is different and any list that may seem logical to one women is counter productive to another
I’m happy to ask or be asked, but I usually prefer first dates to be lunch or coffee dates, simply because it’s easier to get away in a shorter time if things aren’t working (one has to return to work, etc.) And I prefer to go dutch as well. I did, however, have a (vanilla) date with a man who chose an expensive restaurant and then didn’t have money to pay for either of us. That was bad. I guess my advice to men in general would be to bring enough money to cover the entire check unless it’s already been decided otherwise, just because many women do take this for granted and it could be awkward otherwise. But please don’t assume you have to pay, and especially don’t assume this because your date is sexually dominant. Would a submissive woman going out with a dominant man usually pay? My dates are not a paid service.
